The museum is located in the heart of the old town, in a restored complex of four former noble and bourgeois houses, with remains dating back to the Middle Ages. On three levels, some of which are carved out of the rock, visitors can discover the town's history spanning more than a thousand years through original objects, enhanced by an interactive multimedia system. A series of models illustrate the town's urban development from the 10th century onwards. Temporary exhibitions are held regularly on the three upper levels. The panoramic lift that crosses the entire height of the museum offers spectacular views.
