Medieval Armenian sounds - recreated for the 21st century.

The Naghash Ensemble combines the deep-rooted spirituality of Armenian folk music with new classical music, post-minimalism and the energy of jazz and rock. Three classical singers and four virtuoso instrumentalists on duduk, oud, dhol and grand piano perform new music based on the texts of the medieval poet and priest Mkrtich Naghash.

The "Songs of Exile" by the American-Armenian composer John Hodian are a profound meditation on man's relationship with God - from the perspective of a priest who spent long years of his life in exile.
