An immediate hit, it won Joplin a posthumous Pulitzer for its powerful themes of civil rights and education. Following their 2018 sell-out season with A Man of Good Hope, the exuberant South African ensemble Isango returns to Luxembourg with this revival, postponed from earlier this year. Set up by British director Mark Dornford-May and South African performer Paulina Malefane, Isango draws on talent from Cape Town's townships to mount acclaimed productions, including The Magic Flute.
